Rep. Michelle Mussman: The Tax Town Policy Discussion

  • Schaumburg Township Building 1 Illinois Boulevard Hoffman Estates, IL, 60169 United States (map)

State Rep. Michelle Mussman, D-Schaumburg, is hosting a Tax Policy Discussion with experts from the Taxpayers Federation of Illinois and the Center for Tax and Budget Accountability to provide her constituents an opportunity to learn how and why Illinois sets its current tax rates and what options are available to provide additional tax relief for middle and lower income families in the Schaumburg area.

Representative Mussman invites her constituents in the 56th House District to share their opinions and questions with the invited experts at the Schaumburg Township Building, located at 1 Illinois Blvd. in Hoffman Estates, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 27.

“A common theme throughout the numerous town halls that I have hosted is how current tax policies have come to be and how feasible potential changes to current tax policy actually are. So, I have invited experts from multiple tax policy think tanks to help my neighbors explore ways to improve our day-to-day lives for fellow middle-class families in the 56th District. These experts are not responsible for past taxing policy, but they can better explain what steps we can take moving forward to chip away at the ever-growing debt that has accrued during these past years.”

The Tax Town Policy Discussion is free and open to the public. For more information, please contact Mussman’s full-time constituent service office at 847-923-9104 or by email at StateRepMussman@gmail.com.
